This will probably be more of a random
doodle....nothing much to report
My
training has been pretty steady....some days better than others but
that's the way it is getting back to things after an injury. Itīs kind
of like starting over, and seeing how things go day by day. Also a bit
frustrating on the tennis part because some days you feel pretty good
and push yourself, only to find your arm feeling sore the next day and
having to take it easy again. When you're injured it only makes the
thought of being healthy so much more important. I'm not sure I will be
ready to play in Rome...which kills me to say because I love that city
and the stadium there is one of my favorites to play in. I think another
week of training is going to do me a lot better than rushing to play
when I'm not quite there yet.
I
gotta tell you in the last few weeks I have gotten to appreciate what my
career has brought me more than any other time since I won Wimbe. I
don't quite know how to describe it but it feels like I have had a
steady life for the last few weeks. I go to what I call a dream job
everyday, I have my positive days, I have the moody ones when I don't
feel like getting out of bed. I have some meetings here and
there.....get to work on a few exciting projects. I go to the beach if I
feel like it, or call up my friends if I'm bored and need a little
retail pick-me-up. Or I'll invite them over, order pizza and watch a
movie. I'm positive my friends can't wait for me to get out of town
because when I'm around they don't seem to get much work done!
Few random notes:
The gym I work out at is a little hole in the wall type of place where
you usually see the same people regularly....mainly athletes. This past
week I've seen this new couple come in about two times now.....the wife
comes in wearing Chanel goggle size glasses and decides to use the
elliptical machine with them on. No more does five minutes pass by does
she get off and starts talking to the husband. He asks her how she feels
and she says 'sweaty' in a disgusted way. Ummm yeah, last time I checked
you're not supposed to feel sweaty at a gym.
I went to a UPS office the other day and some guy came in asking if they
could send out a letter using Fed Ex.....brilliant!
My birthday card of the year goes to Eric. He got me a card that said '
the middle age is when you're too young to hit golf balls and too old to
rush to the net (obviously a card for someone turning 50) and then below
he wrote 'Thank God you're not there yet.' Typical Eric!!
Just heard that Kimmy is retiring! I wish her nothing but the best in
her new chapter of life. She is a truly genuine person with a huge
heart...not to mention someone with amazing accomplishments on court.
Sending you lot's of hug's Kim!!
I'm so excited about the b-ball play-offs! Very bummed Miami is out, but
Cleveland's my next fave....besides the fact that I've missed every one
of their games because I'm usually training around that time....I'm with
them in spirit. And Steve Nash is one of the best competitors out
there....get's the job done and doesn't care about anything else...great
role model!
Alright I'm getting quite bored with having to report about my home life
which means that's it's time for my body to get it's act together!!
Which means I better go ice my shoulder. (I'm so lazy when it comes to
ice) Bye!
Maria
